For those of you adventurous types, there are lots of events happening outside of Saint John's.
The Graduate Center at the City University of New York has an ongoing Women's Studies Speakers Series. All events are free. A few of the upcoming events in September are:
*Tuesday, September 18th, 4-6pm is a talk about Why Standpoint Still Matters given by Alison Wylie. (Room 9204)
*Thursday, September 20th, 6-7:30pm there is a talk by Sarah Ostendorf on The Future of Poetry: Shakespeare, Lanyer, and Textual Reproduction. (Room 9207)
*Wednesday, September 26th, 12-2pm, Lisa Duggan speaks about Seminar in Gender and Sexuality: Feeling Neoliberal: Homonormative Desires, Imperial Dreams. (Room 6112)
*Thursday, September 27th, 6:30pm they will be showing The Invisible War in the Martin E. Segal Theater.

Also, you are invited to The Light in Her Eyes: Women Faith and Empowerment in Syria film screening on Wednesday, October 17th at 12pm to 1:30pm.
